With Newfoundlanders and Labradorians now formally headed to the polls on XYZ, the province’s political events are swinging into full gear to fill the ultimate vacant districts with candidates.
A lot of that work had already been executed previous to the beginning of official campaigning, with greater than 70 individuals confirmed as candidates in the province’s 40 electoral districts.
On Friday afternoon, Liberal Chief Andrew Furey requested Lt.-Gov Judy Foote to dissolve the provincial legislature and name the election, marking the province’s first winter election since 1999 — and one not like every other, held within the midst of a world pandemic.
Under is a listing of confirmed candidates — to date — in alphabetical order. This info has been offered by the political events, and isn’t an official listing from Elections NL. That shall be out there within the coming days or even weeks.
