Officers with the 2023 Canada Video games have been in discussions with municipalities throughout P.E.I. about monetary and different assist.
Kyle Dudley, CEO of the 2023 Winter Video games to be held on P.E.I., mentioned fundraising efforts and municipal partnerships are vital for a non-profit.
Thus far, officers have met with Charlottetown, Summerside, Stratford and Three Rivers.
Dudley mentioned the request to Charlottetown and Summerside is to offer $50 per resident, and smaller communities are being requested for $25 per resident.
He mentioned there are different methods municipalities will help if monetary assist shouldn’t be doable.
“If they are not capable of financially assist, then how can we work with them … both from a volunteer perspective, from a promotional perspective?”
